How to make a Spirit Stick:  Gather favorite pictures of you, your pets, whatever is meaningful to you.  Paste the pictures on a heavier weight sheet of paper; include names and messages.  Drawings or a hand written message (without photos) are also welcome.  Creativity is appreciated.  Your Spirit Stick must be burnable.  If you do not have a wooden paint stirrer, no worries, we have them here.

Mail to SDP, 37 Boxford Road, Ipswich, MA 01938.

If it’s easier for you, send your photo(s) to and we will put together your Spirit Stick.  Please include names and, if you’d like, a brief message.

The Spirit Stick Parade will be held during the afternoon on September 19.  Staff and volunteers will pass by the Explore camera, hold up spirit sticks and read whom they are from. The spirit sticks are then brought directly to the fire pit where they are burned; your spirit then presumably remains at SDP.
